The Old Edwards Inn and Spa in Highlands, NC announced the purchase of the Highlands Cove Golf Course, Clubhouse and Peregrine Restaurant on September 27, 2008. Highlands Cove closed to the public on November 3, 2008 and will re-open as the Old Edwards Club mid-May 2009 following renovations designed to bring the amenities in line with the current Old Edwards offerings.

The Old Edwards Club will feature limited invitation-only memberships that include full privileges to all Old Edwards amenities. The championship designs of the par 71 golf course will challenge you if you're among the best of players, and yet be a pleasure for those at every level. You will enjoy the fast dry tennis courts, and a 15,000 square foot, full-service clubhouse. It includes men's and ladies' locker rooms and a fully stocked golf pro shop to meet all your equipment and apparel needs. Also, an on-site heated mineral pool will be added during renovations.

As a member of the Old Edwards Club, you can enjoy not only the amenities at the Old Edwards Club, but also the amenities at the Old Edwards Inn & Spa, including its state-of-the-art fitness center, world-class spa and outdoor heated mineral pool.
